Caller ID on Cell Phones

What we know as a “Caller ID”, is referred to as a “CNAM” by phone providers.  These are set when new numbers are incorporated into phone provider networks. These names however, when it comes to businesses, do not display on cell phones. When one calls any cell phone from a business phone, the CNAM will not display. This rule applies across all cell provider networks.

When a company name does display on a cell phone, it is the result of being programmed into the cell phone that way by the cell phone user. If they have not already programmed/applied a name to the number, only the number will display.
