Introduction

This article explains how to configure language settings for BlueCloud AI Voice Agents. Language selection determines which spoken languages the agent can listen for and accurately process during voice interactions.

Language Settings

The Language setting defines which language or languages the AI Voice Agent will recognize and understand. This is critical because the agent relies on a speech-to-text engine to convert spoken language into text before processing a response.

Selecting the correct language ensures accurate transcription and intent recognition during calls.

Available Language Options

BlueCloud AI Voice Agents currently support the following language configurations:

  • English (US)
  • Spanish (US)
  • Multilingual, including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, and Dutch

Configuring the Language

To configure the language setting, log in to the desired domain, select the AI Agent menu button, choose the desired AI Voice Agent and click the edit icon (pencil).

Once the AI Voice Agent has opened scroll down on the Basic Settings menu tab and select the desired language.

Text-to-Speech Voice Considerations

Some AI text-to-speech voices are not available when Spanish or Multilingual language options are selected. While the agent can still understand and process calls in those languages, the selection of available response voices may be more limited than when English is selected.

Conclusion

Choosing the appropriate language setting ensures that BlueCloud AI Voice Agents accurately understand callers and respond effectively. Language configuration should be selected based on the languages your callers are most likely to use and the voice options required for your deployment.
